so i don't forget,
i love diners, having different malls to choose from, not having to get out of my car to pump my gas, the streets and shops in caldwell, montclair, westfield and morristown. i love mom and pop pizza shops, indian food buffets, eating seafood in newark and elizabeth. i love the bagels, especially everything bagels with fresh veggie cream cheese. no other state (save for new york) has ever gotten it right. i love hoboken, looking at the city across the water, and parking and hopping on the path. i love Holy Face monastery in Clifton and Father Louis and the view of the skyline next to the fountain. i love the Blue Army Shrine and the memories of my mom dragging me there for feast days while i scanned the crowd for cute filipino guys. i love its gift shop and the daily masses. i love the parks around me, the different paths i've been running on. i love the shore, the boardwalk, frozen custard and funnel cakes. i love atlantic city and its ongoing attempts to float above water. i love the cooky highway systems, 287, 206, 78, turnpike, parkway, 80, 46, 18. i love telling people to get onto 2-87, not 2-8-7, and not route 287. i love the trees. i love pennsylvania to the left, and new york to the north and right, delaware to the south. i love crossing borders, and i love the new york/new jersey state line designed out in tiles in the holland tunnel. yes, i love bon jovi. i love giants/jets stadium. i love the outlets in secaucus and the imported chocolates store next to the mikasa and corning store. i love/hate syms and the countless number of clothes/shoes/jackets i was required to wear from there.
it's in my blood. i'll try not to miss all this too much.
