.montclair is fair.

my brunch buddy & i at "toast" in montclair, nj

this is an overdue post about my fun day with my fun friend. (i'm actually going to cheat and change the date to the time this all happened, but if you must know, it's really the 25th. okay, there, you happy?) if you click on the link, you can actually see the spot where we were sitting, the bottom left hand corner, a comfy nook on a very chilly day. the atmosphere was fun, although we caught a bit of the breeze coming in whenever someone opened the door. after poring over the menu of absolutely fabulous choices, i went with the spring roll scramble, while mai chose a sandwich which i can't seem to remember except it had meat. we wisely chose to split the nutella stuffed french toast and i was pretty much in love after that. i'm not ashamed to say that food and friends go hand in hand. i can't think of many occasions where there isn't food involved when it comes to fraternizing with the ones i love, even if it's over coffee or pistachio cake as a late night snack. i love that my friends take the time to make sure i'll have something to eat, although sometimes i think they do too good of a job at it! (husky girl still loves you all).

our dessert place after walking mucho blocks to find it!

why are cupcakes just so awesome? mai had the banana something something while mine was coconut vanilla something something. we were a little overwhelmed after 1, not remembering the name of it, and 2, not knowing what the building looked like and walking around and around. all in all, it was a great day, getting some good exercise and just loving the old town feeling of jersey before we were led victim to the urban madness of elizabeth with jersey gardens and ikea. jug handles, i know, evil evil jersey contraptions. so that's where i was and i do believe that westfield is next on my agenda!
