.for free? fo sho!.

.beautiful madness.

yeah, so i was in the kitchen this morning and saw a macy's coupon for a free estee lauder gift with any 25 dollar purchase and i got really annoyed because i knew my mom was going to get madd excited. first of all, it's not really free, because you're buying something! second of all, my mother is a SUCKER for these things. she loves the word "free". she loves it more than she loves me, because i've never seen her get so excited. free samples. she loves free samples. it doesn't help that my dad is in the medical field and pharm reps hook him up w/ clocks that say nexium and pens that say viagra, which my mom promptly takes. i'm not trying to blow up my mom's spot, but i figure it's payback for all that time i spent putting things back on the rack/shelf because it didn't have a coupon. now i get anxious when i'm in the grocery store or department store. i spent 20 minutes trying to decide which pack of paper towels i should buy, while i could hear my mom clicking her tongue and telling me i could've gotten it for cheaper at bj's. freakin wholesale clubs.

for lent i'm actually doing a couple of things:

:mind:
*no myspace.
*limiting my online time (although you wouldn't think by the size of this entry)
*one of them is curbing my spending, which i need to do because the bank account is so teenie weenie. the last thing i bought was a shoe pouch for my nike+ which i haven't been able to use because i'm not going to buy shoes with a hole built into it. i'm just not going to. this will help with my other lenten commitment to get moving again.

:body:
*move stacy, move.
*curtail eating out (helps also w/ finances) and eating healthier.
*no seafood--my mom didn't really know what to do with that. she was like, "um, well take care."

:soul:
*daily mass as often as possible
*no cursing
*daily rosary
*and to continue on w/ my new year's resolution, being more aware of what i say.
